Kids Healthy Heroes Time 10:00 AM Location Main Campus

Youth ages 7-12 who are impacted by cancer are invited to enjoy this fun exercise and wellness class! We’ll shake it up with some Jin Shin Jyutsu, a Japanese relaxation technique, along with kid-friendly yoga and Zumba. All exercises are modifiable to the participants’ abilities.

The primary focus of this group is to support your emotional and social needs as we strive to be there for one another throughout the challenges of caring for our loved ones who have been impacted by cancer.

                Frankly Speaking About Cancer: Clinical Trials Time 1:30 PM Location Main Campus This free workshop focuses on building awareness about clinical trials. People impacted by cancer and their loved ones are invited to join us as we learn how these trials are structured and how to foster an open dialogue with their health care team about the eligibility and the viability of clinical trials as a treatment option.                           Expressive Arts Class Time 10:00 AM Location Main Campus

                          This 2 hour class focuses on projects that help members explore the changes and challenges they find themselves in through various artistic methods. No experience necessary. Materials provided. Please register for only one class per month.

                          April:  ZENTANGLE  Zentangle drawing is an abstract method created using repetitive patterns. We will use hollowed out eggs to represent the fragility of our life's experience. Don't worry, plenty of eggs shells will be available.

                          May:  BATIK  - Batik is a technique of using resist with dye on fabric. Traditionally hot wax is used but we will use glue as the resist. Come with ideas of images that reflect who you are to incorporate into your piece.

                          June: TELL YOUR STORY THROUGH FOLK ART - Folk Art is typically made by untrained artists utilizing a variety of methods that incorporate things that are happening in their life and important to them. Bold colors, flattened perspective and strong forms in simple arrangements are common.

                          Meet our Facilitator: Linda Ruvalcaba, MA, LPC (she/her/ella) is a proud Chicana and Bilingual Psychotherapist from Phoenix, Arizona. She graduated from Arizona State University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and from Northern Arizona University in 2011 with a Master of Arts in Counseling. Linda spent several years working in community mental health before starting her own therapy practice in 2019, Therapy Girl LLC. Linda specializes in trauma, anxiety, grief, and in working with the Latinx community, activists and community leaders.

                                                This 2 hour class focuses on projects that help members explore the changes and challenges they find themselves in through various artistic methods. No experience necessary. Materials provided. Please register for only one class per month.

                                                April:  ZENTANGLE  Zentangle drawing is an abstract method created using repetitive patterns. We will use hollowed out eggs to represent the fragility of our life's experience. Don't worry, plenty of eggs shells will be available.

                                                May:  BATIK  - Batik is a technique of using resist with dye on fabric. Traditionally hot wax is used but we will use glue as the resist. Come with ideas of images that reflect who you are to incorporate into your piece.

                                                June: TELL YOUR STORY THROUGH FOLK ART - Folk Art is typically made by untrained artists utilizing a variety of methods that incorporate things that are happening in their life and important to them. Bold colors, flattened perspective and strong forms in simple arrangements are common.

                                                                Expressive Arts Class Time 10:00 AM Location Main Campus

                                                                This 2 hour class focuses on projects that help members explore the changes and challenges they find themselves in through various artistic methods. No experience necessary. Materials provided. Please register for only one class per month.

                                                                April:  ZENTANGLE  Zentangle drawing is an abstract method created using repetitive patterns. We will use hollowed out eggs to represent the fragility of our life's experience. Don't worry, plenty of eggs shells will be available.

                                                                May:  BATIK  - Batik is a technique of using resist with dye on fabric. Traditionally hot wax is used but we will use glue as the resist. Come with ideas of images that reflect who you are to incorporate into your piece.

                                                                June: TELL YOUR STORY THROUGH FOLK ART - Folk Art is typically made by untrained artists utilizing a variety of methods that incorporate things that are happening in their life and important to them. Bold colors, flattened perspective and strong forms in simple arrangements are common.

She graduated from Arizona State University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and from Northern Arizona University in 2011 with a Master of Arts in Counseling. Linda spent several years working in community mental health before starting her own therapy practice in 2019, Therapy Girl LLC. Linda specializes in trauma, anxiety, grief, and in working with the Latinx community, activists and community leaders.

                                                                                      Expressive Arts Class Time 6:00 PM Location Main Campus

                                                                                      This 2 hour class focuses on projects that help members explore the changes and challenges they find themselves in through various artistic methods. No experience necessary. Materials provided. Please register for only one class per month.

                                                                                      April:  ZENTANGLE  Zentangle drawing is an abstract method created using repetitive patterns. We will use hollowed out eggs to represent the fragility of our life's experience. Don't worry, plenty of eggs shells will be available.

                                                                                      May:  BATIK  - Batik is a technique of using resist with dye on fabric. Traditionally hot wax is used but we will use glue as the resist. Come with ideas of images that reflect who you are to incorporate into your piece.

                                                                                      June: TELL YOUR STORY THROUGH FOLK ART - Folk Art is typically made by untrained artists utilizing a variety of methods that incorporate things that are happening in their life and important to them. Bold colors, flattened perspective and strong forms in simple arrangements are common.

                                                                                                      Meet our Facilitator: Linda Ruvalcaba, MA, LPC (she/her/ella) is a proud Chicana and Bilingual Psychotherapist from Phoenix, Arizona. She graduated from Arizona State University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and from Northern Arizona University in 2011 with a Master of Arts in Counseling. Linda spent several years working in community mental health before starting her own therapy practice in 2019, Therapy Girl LLC. Linda specializes in trauma, anxiety, grief, and in working with the Latinx community, activists and community leaders.

                                                                                                                This 2 hour class focuses on projects that help members explore the changes and challenges they find themselves in through various artistic methods.                                                                                                                 April:  ZENTANGLE  Zentangle drawing is an abstract method created using repetitive patterns. We will use hollowed out eggs to represent the fragility of our life's experience. Don't worry, plenty of eggs shells will be available.

                                                                                                                May:  BATIK  - Batik is a technique of using resist with dye on fabric. Traditionally hot wax is used but we will use glue as the resist. Come with ideas of images that reflect who you are to incorporate into your piece.

                                                                                                                June: TELL YOUR STORY THROUGH FOLK ART - Folk Art is typically made by untrained artists utilizing a variety of methods that incorporate things that are happening in their life and important to them. Bold colors, flattened perspective and strong forms in simple arrangements are common.

                                                                                                                        These professionally-facilitated weekly support groups are for people with cancer and a separate group for family, friends and caregivers. Explore new ways of dealing with the stresses of cancer and learn techniques to become partners with your healthcare team.

                                                                                                                        A brief interview is required to determine appropriate group placement.
