Cancer Patient Support Group - Mondays Time 1:00 PM

This support group is open to anyone with a current or recent cancer diagnosis. In this group, we will provide a safe space to explore what cancer means in your life and in return you will find a community of individuals who will stand with you and who understand your story because they have lived it. The primary focus of this group is to support your emotional and social needs as we strive to be there for one another throughout the challenges of cancer.

At Cancer Support Community Arizona, everyone is a Cancer Survivor – whether you are newly diagnosed, or have been cancer free for years.

Join us for survivor social where you have a chance to get to know other survivors on different stages of their cancer journey. This is a chance to talk about anything from your diagnosis, to what the weather is like outside!

Welcome to Cancer Support Community Arizona. If you or someone you know has been affected by cancer, we invite you to register for the Newcomer Orientation Meeting. This orientation will be IN PERSON at our main campus and will cover our program options as well as give you information about the comprehensive free classes, workshops, and events. We will discuss how to get started with several of the program options available for you and your family.

SPECIAL NOTE: this Newcomer Orientation is available in-person at the main CSCAZ Campus (360 East Palm Lane). If you prefer to attend virtually, there is a virtual option for this class on the calendar at the same time.                 Learn & Support: Multiple Myeloma Time 10:00 AM

                Please join this monthly group for a supportive discussion and education regarding living with Multiple Myeloma. Learn about treatment options, side effect management and survivorship. This is a time to share information and experiences and on occasion learn from medical experts. Those supporting a loved one with Multiple Myeloma are also welcome.

                Meet our Facilitator: Linda Ruvalcaba, MA, LPC (she/her/ella) is a proud Chicana and Bilingual Psychotherapist from Phoenix, Arizona. She graduated from Arizona State University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and from Northern Arizona University in 2011 with a Master of Arts in Counseling. Linda spent several years working in community mental health before starting her own therapy practice in 2019, Therapy Girl LLC. Linda specializes in trauma, anxiety, grief, and in working with the Latinx community, activists and community leaders.

                    For Ages 7-12. KidSupport Group is a support group that meets once a week for six weeks and teaches children tools to cope with a cancer diagnosis in the family.                                                   Please join this monthly group for a supportive discussion and education regarding living with Multiple Myeloma. Learn about treatment options, side effect management and survivorship. This is a time to share information and experiences and on occasion learn from medical experts.                                                   Meet our Facilitator: Linda Ruvalcaba, MA, LPC (she/her/ella) is a proud Chicana and Bilingual Psychotherapist from Phoenix, Arizona. She graduated from Arizona State University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and from Northern Arizona University in 2011 with a Master of Arts in Counseling. Linda spent several years working in community mental health before starting her own therapy practice in 2019, Therapy Girl LLC. Linda specializes in trauma, anxiety, grief, and in working with the Latinx community, activists and community leaders.

                                                                Frankly Speaking About Cancer: Clinical Trials Time 5:30 PM Location Main Campus This free workshop focuses on building awareness about clinical trials. People impacted by cancer and their loved ones are invited to join us as we learn how these trials are structured and how to foster an open dialogue with their health care team about the eligibility and the viability of clinical trials as a treatment option. The primary focus of this group is to support your emotional and social needs as we strive to be there for one another throughout the challenges of cancer.

Learn about treatment options, side effect management and survivorship. This is a time to share information and experiences and on occasion learn from medical experts.                                                                                             Meet our Facilitator: Linda Ruvalcaba, MA, LPC (she/her/ella) is a proud Chicana and Bilingual Psychotherapist from Phoenix, Arizona. She graduated from Arizona State University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and from Northern Arizona University in 2011 with a Master of Arts in Counseling. Linda spent several years working in community mental health before starting her own therapy practice in 2019, Therapy Girl LLC. Linda specializes in trauma, anxiety, grief, and in working with the Latinx community, activists and community leaders.

If you or someone you know has been affected by cancer, we invite you to register for the Newcomer Orientation Meeting. This orientation will be IN PERSON at our main campus and will cover our program options as well as give you information about the comprehensive free classes, workshops, and events. We will discuss how to get started with several of the program options available for you and your family.

                                                                                                              This support group is open to anyone caring for a loved one with a current or recent cancer diagnosis. In this group, we will provide a safe space to explore what cancer means in your life as a caregiver and in return you will find a community of individuals who will stand with you and who understand your story because they have lived it. The primary focus of this group is to support your emotional and social needs as we strive to be there for one another throughout the challenges of caring for our loved ones who have been impacted by cancer.
