Forest Bathing in Northern Arizona (weather permitting)

The Japanese practice of shinrin yoku, or Forest Bathing, is good for both physical and mental wellbeing. It is proven to reduce stress hormone production, improve feelings of happiness and free up creativity, as well as lower heart rate and blood pressure, boost the immune system and accelerate recovery from illness.

The workshop is designed for cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, family members, and friends.  Walking and talking in community with one another while focused on taking in the healing power of nature is a powerful psychosocial healing tool for the mind and heart.

Let's support one another by introducing a healthy lifestyle choice to our Wednesdays and practice forest bathing by walking together from 10:00 am - 12:oo noon in gorgeous Flagstaff, AZ. Please ALWAYS register in advance so we know you are coming. If we have inclement weather on Wednesday, this workshop will magically morph into expressive arts. We will not go out if trails are icy or snow covered or the temperature is at or below 32 degrees.

The group will depart from CSCAZ at 10:00 am and everyone is invited to bring snacks, water, sunscreen, a hat, and walking poles.

  • Wednesday, March 11, Picture Canyon Natural and Cultural Preserve:  Bring your hiking poles in case we come across any ice on the trail, and hiking tread shoes are probably safer than tennis shoes!!!
