Event Information
Grief & Loss Support Group Location: Main Campus The purpose of these professionally facilitated monthly support groups is to assist people whose family member or close friend passed away from cancer within the last two years. The group will discuss the stages of loss, how to cope with grief, and how to deal with anniversaries and other milestones in life. Our facilitator, Joyce Seeling, has been a licensed master's level social worker in a hospital setting for most of her career. She has extensive experience working with patients and their families in oncology, hematology, bone marrow, and transplant units, and cardiothoracic surgery. Joyce moved to the Valley 16 years ago to be a part of Honor Health's brand-new Palliative Care Team. She became involved in the Cancer Support Community four years ago as a facilitator of the Friends and Family Support Group and the Grief and Loss Support Group. During our meetings, we share stories, connect, ask questions, learn from one another, complain, and laugh. Our program is designed to provide you with a safe space in which to care for a family member, a friend, or a loved one. It is necessary to conduct a brief interview to determine the appropriate group placement. To schedule the interview, please contact us at 602 712-1006 or info@cscaz.org before completing the registration form. Note: In response to COVID-19, Cancer Support Community Arizona is shifting this program to be held via Zoom, which is a virtual/online platform that is FREE and accessible to you via any smart phone, laptop, computer, or tablet. To access the Zoom link after completing the brief interview, please register here and we will email you your login information. If you have any questions, please contact one of our staff members directly at (602) 712-1006 or info@cscaz.org
